NIkolay Karadjov

Nikolay Karadzhov is a prominent Bulgarian painter, born in 1950 in the village of Malchika, Pleven Region, who graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Sofia in 1975 under the guidance of Professor Nenko Balkanski. A member of the Union of Bulgarian Artists (UBA) since 1979, he developed an active creative career with dozens of participations in national group art exhibitions and representative showcases of Bulgarian art abroad. Over the years, he has held numerous solo exhibitions in various Bulgarian cities, including Sofia, Lovech, Ruse, Plovdiv, Levski, and Varna, as well as on the international stage in Riga and in prestigious London galleries such as Alberti, Gagliardi, and the Leighton House Museum. The artist has received several accolades, including the "Ruse" Award, a prize from the International Biennale of Miniature Forms in Pleven, an award for painting from the Clavissimo competition, and a nomination for the prestigious "Vladimir Dimitrov – The Master" National Award. In addition to his easel painting, Nikolay Karadzhov is known for his charitable and commissioned work for temples, donating copies of classical Christian artworks to the Catholic and Orthodox churches in his native village and painting portraits of Bishop Evgeni Bosilkov and Patriarch Neofit. His paintings are part of the collections of the National Art Gallery, the Sofia City Art Gallery, numerous regional galleries in Bulgaria, as well as significant private collections around the world.
