Yordan Katsamunski was born on May 30, 1943 in the town of Pleven. In 1971 he finished painting in the Academy of Fine Arts in Belgrade under Professors Mladen Srbinovic and Radenko Mishevich. Since 1972 he has been a member of the Union of Bulgarian Artists.
Jordan Katsamunski has over 15 solo exhibitions organized in Sofia, Oreshak, Pleven, Sliven, Varna, Plovdiv, Bucharest and Budapest. He participates in (General art exhibitions) in Bulgaria and in performances of Bulgarian fine arts in Great Britain, Belgium, Germany, Greece, Denmark, Russia, France, Netherlands, Japan, Switzerland and others.
Throughout life he builds his aesthetic and purely picturesque compositions, landscapes and still-life. Its laconic and frugal pictorial expressions are the spontaneous expression of its quiet and unobtrusive nature. His own creative appearances are just as rare but convincing. His distinctive and recognizable style brings Yordan Katsamunski the most prestigious painting awards in Bulgaria. The artist dies in 2015.
